Wellness is the process of becoming aware of and practicing daily healthy habits for better physical and mental health. It’s about living life fully, creating a lifestyle where you’re thriving and not just surviving. Wellness is a holistic integration of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, fueling the body, engaging the mind, and nurturing the spirit.
Mindlessness keeps us frozen in our bodies. We become more inflexible and immobile as we age. Our posture changes, and we lose height. Becoming mindful and making healthy choices can be challenging. Change becomes much more achievable with self-awareness. Then you can cultivate the habits that work for you. Caring for yourself may take a little extra time, but you will feel better and more successful.
In this workshop, Kelly, Maddie, and Tristan will teach you simple and easy exercises to help strengthen your muscles. You will learn techniques to improve your mind-body connection and body awareness, using your own senses and proprioception.
You will receive a posture analysis, and learn more functional movement patterns. You will learn yoga poses and breathing techniques to stretch the tight muscles that are limiting you from functioning at your full capacity.
Health is wealth. Students will also receive a goody bag full of tools to help jumpstart your wellness journey!
Tristan is a board certified Chiropractor. He uses evidence-based chiropractic care to help people move better and have an understanding of how the body works. He believes movement is key to having a healthy lifestyle.
Maddie has a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences with a minor in Healthcare Administration and a Gerontology Certification. She is currently in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at Cleveland State. Combining her knowledge from school, teaching anatomy to graduate students, and working as a PT technician for years, she loves to promote health and wellness by building a personalized plan that works best for you.
